Richard W. Sears, PsyD, MBA

Dr. Sears is a licensed psychologist (Ohio #6272) who runs a small private practice in his office in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is board certified in clinical psychology by the American Board of Professional Psychology. He conducts therapy for individuals, couples, and families for a wide variety of presenting issues. Dr. Sears is a full-time core faculty member of the Psy.D. Program in Clinical Psychology at Union Institute & University, and clinical assistant professor at Wright State University School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Sears is the Founding Director of the Center for Clinical Mindfulness and Meditation at Union Institute & University. He is lead author of Mindfulness in Clinical Practice and Consultation Skills for Mental Health Professionals. He is under contract for four new books: Mindfulness: Using This Moment to Enhance Your Life (Wiley-Blackwell); Perspectives on Spirituality and Religion in Psychotherapy (with Alison Niblick and Jennifer Scott, Professional Resource Press); Building Competence in Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy: Transcripts and Insights for Working With Stress, Anxiety, Depression, and Other Problems (Routledge Mental Health); and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for PTSD (with Kathleen Chard, Wiley-Blackwell). Dr. Sears also performs consultation services for individuals, businesses, and non-profit agencies on a wide variety of topics, including executive and life coaching and development (which can be done over the telephone), strategic and tactical business planning, training and development workshops, mental health issues in the workplace, stress reduction, change management, and self-defense and security issues. • Read more: about Dr. Sears What's New
